Bittersweet.

That's what this weekend has been.

On the one hand, it was the Fourth of July holiday, a long weekend celebration which found us on a six-hour drive down Highway 5 with friends for a much-deserved R&R in the City of Angels.

Then the tragic news.

A dear, dear man, whom we have considered part of our San Francisco family, had gone to be with the Lord after a two-year battle with cancer. He had passed on our first day in LA, just after we visited him and his family.

I'll have to shelf the July 4th photos for now. This post is for my Tito Jack.

To the gentle giant
who was just about One of the kindest
you'll ever meet in your lifetime:
The world truly has lost a great man.

We'll miss you, Tito Jack,
although you're probably more alive now
than we'll ever be.

We love you.
And we'll see you soon.

Remembering Tito Jack:
* On his birthday
* Thanksgiving last year
* Raffy's account
